Our Church

What's a worship session like at Jubilee Holiness Church in Greensboro? There are a few things different here than what you would expect at a regular "baptist" or "catholic-like" church.

1. There is no set hymnal. Yes there is music, and you will find it upbeat and downbeat but all kinds of beat as long as it is praising Jesus and God and the Holy Spirit are pretty much welcome here. Though the folks do like their upspirit Southern Gospel here.

2. Everyone will and does have a chance to contribute. In the Sunday 6pm service you are invited to share a personal testimonial in how you have walked with God or how God has impacted your life some way. Prayer requests aren't handed out on lists, they are shouted out during the service by means of raised hand.

3. Don't expect the Sunday main service to have a set end time. We used to have a clock at the back of the chapel; it's replaced by a crown of thorns to remind us it's always JesusTime.

4. You will find out that we are a close knit and a small church. Everyone tends to know everyone, and lots of people help out here :)

5. Yes, there is a church hymnnal and you might be expected to join in one congregational hymn. Even better is if you bring a song with you to perform.

6. It is a small church. So if you have kids, real young kids, it is only on larger occasions that a creche is actually operated. Expect to be chasing after your child in church if they like running around (2-6 years of age or thereabouts you will find that you would have to superglue your childs behind to a chair for it to stay still for a minute - and yes I have a 3 year old!)

7. Want to help in the church? There's always some opportunity somewhere! Ask the leaders if help is needed in some place. If you reach this point, you're probably hooked onto us and are staying a bit!

Well, these are my own personal observations as a on-off member for the last 3 years.

Mark.
