Our Church

What's a worship session like at Jubilee Holiness Church in Greensboro? There are a few things different here than what you would expect at a regular "baptist" or "catholic-like" church.

1. There is no set hymnal. Yes there is music, and you will find it upbeat and downbeat but all kinds of beat as long as it is praising Jesus and God and the Holy Spirit are pretty much welcome here. Though the folks do like their upspirit Southern Gospel here.

2. Everyone will and does have a chance to contribute. In the Sunday 6pm service you are invited to share a personal testimonial in how you have walked with God or how God has impacted your life some way. Prayer requests aren't handed out on lists, they are shouted out during the service by means of raised hand.

3. Don't expect the Sunday main service to have a set end time. We used to have a clock at the back of the chapel; it's replaced by a crown of thorns to remind us it's always JesusTime.

4. You will find out that we are a close knit and a small church. Everyone tends to know everyone, and lots of people help out here :)

5. Yes, there is a church hymnnal and you might be expected to join in one congregational hymn. Even better is if you bring a song with you to perform.

6. It is a small church. So if you have kids, real young kids, it is only on larger occasions that a creche is actually operated. Expect to be chasing after your child in church if they like running around (2-6 years of age or thereabouts you will find that you would have to superglue your childs behind to a chair for it to stay still for a minute - and yes I have a 3 year old!)

7. Want to help in the church? There's always some opportunity somewhere! Ask the leaders if help is needed in some place. If you reach this point, you're probably hooked onto us and are staying a bit!

Well, these are my own personal observations as a on-off member for the last 3 years.

Mark.

Our church!

Well, welcome to jubilee-holiness.org, the Internet home of Jubilee Holiness Church in Greensboro, NC, USA.

We are not a large church, as you can see by the picture of the front of the building. It's neither anything of any great architectural importance either. However it's ours and it is paid for, which some "new" churches can't say anyway.

As you would gather it is what goes on inside is what counts. It's the singing, the worship, the praise, the forgiving of sins, the blessings that God pours on us here at our church and in our lives. Because Jesus told us Himself that our body is his Church more than just any building.

We've ran a number of ministries, the food ministry died out due to lack of support lately but hopefully that will restart soon. We have our outreach ministry to the nursing homes; singing in two nursing homes once a month at present.

Our youth is the future for our church and we hope to grow but we have some active younger members:

Sierra with her uncle, Pastor Junior.

Daniel with his father.

And as a rule, we don't dress real fancy when we go to church. Some people want to put on their Sunday Best, that's all up to them. However some people's Sunday Best is a clean pair of jeans and a nice pressed shirt. That's OK by us by the way. God isn't holding a fashion parade at our church any time soon. We're BYOF here: Bring Your Own Friend/Family.

So now you've learned a little about us why not drop on by? We're conveniently late at 11am for service if you really like to sleep in on a Sunday, though we encourage you to stir your stumps a little earlier and make it for Sunday School, which is at 10am. Evening worship at 6pm on Sundays and also at 7pm on Wednesdays. There's Bible Study on Tuesdays, and if you're more involved in the Church you will learn about other meeting times (nursing home outreach ministry is 1st and 2nd Saturday of the month usually).

So why don't ya come along now y'all?
